The Cay

I am reading a book called The Cay and The Cay was located in the Caribbean. In this book there is a boy named Phillip who is 12 or 13, and a man named Timothy and he is probably 75 or 89 some where through out there but he is pretty old to be able to take care of himself and a boy so let me tell you about Phillip in the next paragraph.

Phillip is a boy he lived in the Caribbean with his mother and father. His father works in an oil refinery. His mother just stays home and takes care of Phillip. Phillip was raised to think that black people were less important than them. There was a war going on right there and Phillip and his mother needed to get out of there because of that war and his mother is afraid. So they were going back Virginia and they stopped on the way there and then got torpedoed. Phillip and his mother were split up and Phillip was on a raft with a black man named Timothy. They were on there for a long time then they found a island and stayed there. Now I’m going to tell you about Timothy in the next paragraph.

Timothy is a black man and when he was a little boy he used to dress up and dance in the carnival that was the only kind of fun he does there and he started working at 10 on a boat.
